«C'erano una volta i migranti italiani»

Another film for you, which we discovered while researching for our documentary: “C'erano una volta i migranti italiani” by Cédric Louis, Maria-Pia Mascaro

About «C'erano una volta i migranti italiani»:

Today, Italians are the largest immigrant community in Switzerland. A new generation of young and highly qualified migrants is following in their parents' footsteps under much more favourable conditions. For as early as the 1950s, Italians were pioneers of migration to Switzerland. As an indispensable and cheap pillar of the economy, they suffered from isolation and xenophobia. The story of the Italians in Switzerland embodies what Switzerland has owed to migration for more than half a century.
